Successful people sometimes fail despite how hard they tried.
Unsuccessful people fail because they didn’t try at all.

Do you think everything happens for a reason?
What’s strange about this question is that many people don’t believe in any sort of supreme being, but they believe everything happens for a reason, which suggests that someone is in control.
Confused yet?
Then add to that the fact that, if everything happens for a reason, there’s no point teaching our children to be careful when crossing the road, or using knives, or carrying scissors. After all, if everything happens for a reason, then we have no control over it.
Interestingly, many do believe in a supreme being, God, and that his sayings are recorded in the Bible. One of those sayings, recorded at Ecclesiastes 9v11 is, “time and chance happeneth to them all.” In other words, he does not control everything that happens to us. He gave us free will. And accidents happen.
We like to think that everything happens for a reason because, when accidents happen, we don’t want to be held responsible for our actions; we want to blame someone else.
Because the truth is that things often do happen for a reason; for the reason that we made a choice. All our choices have consequences, whether good or bad. And we need to stop trying to find someone else to blame and start taking responsibility for our own choices.
What’s a fear you’ve overcome — and how did you do it?
I grew up with the fear of getting it wrong. I always felt that nothing was ever good enough for my mother, and that I was constantly being criticised when, in fact, she was probably only trying to do what was best for me, encouraging me to be the person she knew I could be.
Let’s be honest, most of us have had it drummed into us that “good enough isn’t” (good enough).
Then I learned the Pareto Principle. 80% of the benefit results from 20% of the effort. And I suddenly realised that good enough really is good enough. We aren’t perfect. We are going to make mistakes. There are very few, if any, areas in life where perfection is essential. So why waste 80% of our effort trying to correct that last 20% which no one except the most critical perfectionist (which is often ourselves) will notice, anyway.
What’s the best way to build self-confidence?
No matter what happens in life, smile.
When you smile, you feel good about yourself regardless of what’s going on around you. When you smile, you know you can cope. Smiling is the way to tell yourself, “I’ve got this. Nothing is going to take away my peace.”
We’re not a failure just because no one “Likes and Subscribes.” The failure is in not even trying.
How do you build loyal subscribers?
Maybe the question is more, WHY do you build loyal subscribers?
We all want to be liked. No one wants to be disliked. But there’s a difference between the desire to be liked, and the need to be liked.
For many people, today, being liked is not something optional; it’s become a matter of survival. And it all starts with parenting.
